The Sandbar Restaurant is a popular Anna Maria happy hour spot for cocktails at sunset. Located right on the beach, this is a beautiful place for outdoor dining. You’ll find an extensive wine menu along with fun Florida beach side themed cocktails. The Sandbar also has a sister restaurant in Bradenton Beach called The Beach House. This too is a great happy hour spot on the beach!
Bortell’s Lounge is a great bar just a block from gulf beaches and Pine Avenue. Find them open from 1pm to 1am, however, this establishment does close on weekdays in September. Bortell’s does not allow smoking indoors, and is a clean and friendly adults only hang out. – TEMPORARILY CLOSED
Slim’s Place is the best place on the island to watch the game, drink cold beer, and have some great food! They also have a No Shower Happy Hour weekdays from 3-5pm with food and drink specials!

Holmes Beach
The Ugly Grouper came to Anna Maria in 2015. Formerly the Barefoot Tiki, this updated beer and wine bar has happy hour, Monday – Friday from 4pm-6pm. With tropical options made from selected wines. D Coy Ducks is a popular spot with locals and younger adults. This is an “average Joe’s” dive bar. Often times “Ducks”, as the locals call it, offers live music and poker tournaments. Drinks are very reasonably priced, and smoking is allowed out back in the alley.
Hurricane Hanks is a fun spot to visit for happy hour, or even with the entire family. Hanks has both bar and table seating. Enjoy pub grub with an ice cold Margarita.
The Anchor Inn is also a popular locals dive bar in Holmes Beach next to Mr. Bones BBQ. This bar is popular with the biker crowd, but don’t let that detour you from this neighborhood watering hole. Enjoy very affordable drink specials too.
Waterline Resort & Marina (Eliza Ann’s Coastal Kitchen) is one of the newest additions to the island and boasts a great new restaurant which serves up delicious cocktails with a great happy hour and includes champagne brunch on Saturdays & Sundays!

Gulf Drive Cafe is undoubtedly home to the island’s largest Tiki bar. This is also a great place to find traditional tropical Tiki style cocktails on direct beach front. Enjoy sunset, live music and a full food menu. Gulf Drive is family friendly, but also offers an adult style night life.
